These are the best seeds for a beginner gardener because there was nothing exotic. It's produce that everyone eats. And the packaging is pretty.
I received my seeds in May and immediately planted some radishes and snap peas which I had never grown before. After about a month I had a beautiful harvest of radishes. I pickled some, roasted some and sautéed the radish greens as well. A couple weeks later was eating my snap peas. I planted nasturtium seeds in June and they are still going strong in my garden now in late August. The cucumbers were the best I have ever grown-I have made several jars of pickles and have added them to salads almost daily. I had also never grown zucchini before and they grew so fast. Another seed I had never grown before was the bush beans. I had harvests all summer long and my granddaughter was so excited to help me pick them every time she was over for a visit. The zinnias were the prettiest flower in my garden this year!
So far so good! Some of the packets had holes in them so lost some seeds but other than that, lettuce I've planted are sprouting and looks great so far.
I have the most beautiful kale and arugula and zinnias from the seeds. The rest of the seeds I'm looking forward to planting soon for fall gardening. The packaging is lovely and inviting and the seeds are viable.
I love the packaging and the specific instructions for planting. I find having the season on the packaging was helpful especially since I was trying to plant in tandem with the Leaves, Roots, and Fruits book. I planted the lettuces, spinach, arugula, radishes, carrots, and sugar snap peas. They were very successful, but I planted the carrots a little too close together, next year I'll have to be a little more diligent about seed spacing and invest in a seed spacing ruler!
